Polyketides are a large and complex class of secondary metabolites produced by bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes or plants. They are mainly synthesized by polyketide synthase (PKS), which can be classified as PKS I, PKS II and PKS III.
Polyketides have a wide range of biological activities and chemical diversity due to their unique stereological and chemical structures. The biological activities of polyketides include antibacterial, anticancer, antioxidant, antiparasitic, and anti-inflammatory activities. Due to the good physiological activities exhibited by polyketones, they are now widely used in agriculture, food industry and healthcare, and have great market value.
The biosynthetic pathway of polyketides is the focus of scientific research. By means of biosynthesis, one can more easily utilize the key enzyme PKS, which catalyzes the synthesis of polyketides, to obtain more polyketides and expand their application areas. A number of novel polyketides have also been created using various modification techniques such as point mutation, structural domain exchange, and subunit exchange, and good results have been achieved in obtaining polyketides with desirable biological activities.
Creative Proteomics provides an LC-MS/MS technology platform to help analyze the structure of polyketides, identify PKS of various biological origins, accelerate the understanding of the biological activity and molecular mechanism of polyketides, and promote the synthesis and development of more polyketides.
Accurate quantification: Use external standard method to quantify, and use internal standard for correction, qualitative and quantitative is more accurate.
High sensitivity: We use liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometers for polyketides analysis service (Triple Quad™ 6500 LC-MS/MS System).
