Leukotrienes Analysis Service

Leukotrienes (LTs), which are derived from arachidonic acid through two steps catalyzed by 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO), are inflammatory mediators that function in normal host defense and play roles in inflammatory diseases. The LTs are composed of cysteinylleukotrienes (CysLTs) and leukotriene B4 (LTB4).

They exert their biological effects by binding to G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Different LT receptor subtypes exhibit unique functions and expression patterns.

LT receptors BLT1 and BLT2 are activated by leukotriene B4 (LTB4), whereas CysLT1 and CysLT2 receptors are activated by cysteinyl LTs (CysLTs).

LTs are involved in various inflammatory diseases, including asthma, allergic rhinitis (AR), atopic dermatitis (AD), allergic conjunctivitis, rheumatoid arthritis, anaphylaxis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), obliterative bronchiolitis after lung transplantation, and interstitial lung diseases.

Sample Requirements

We routinely cover a rich variety of sample types, including cells, conditioned medium, tissue, serum, plasma, amniotic fluid for our customer.

Extraction of lipids should be performed right after sample collection steps, otherwise, samples should be stored at -80°C, and shipped with dry ice.

After sample collection, you can either perform sample pretreatment, or contact us for specific sample pretreatment service.
