Phytosterols are an important part of plants and are a collective name for a variety of phytosterols and their saturated forms (sterols). It is widely found in plants such as unrefined vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and legumes. Its widely used in food, medicine, cosmetics, animal growth agents and paper processing, printing, textile and other fields.
In animal production, the scientific use of phytosterols can promote animal growth, improve the health of the body, improve the quality of livestock products, and have a positive effect on reducing the cost of breeding and improving economic benefits. The mechanism of action, effective formulations and doses, absorption efficiency and application technology of phytosterols in improving animal growth and health have not been fully elucidated, and a lot of research is still needed to provide data support for scientific and rational application.
In nature, there are more than 200 components of phytosterols, which have a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities. Phytosterols have strong anti-inflammatory effects on human body, and have the ability to inhibit the absorption of cholesterol, promote the degradation and metabolism of cholesterol, inhibit the biochemical synthesis of cholesterol. It is used in the prevention and treatment of coronary atherosclerosis type of heart disease, and has obvious efficacy in the treatment of ulcers, squamous skin cancer, cervical cancer, etc.. In addition, it promotes wound healing, causes muscle hyperplasia, enhances capillary circulation, and also acts as a stopper for gallstone formation.
To facilitate animal production, steroid drug development, and basic biological research, Creative Proteomcis enables the identification of phytosterol species and content determination analysis based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques.
Absolute quantification: Use external standard method to quantify, and use internal standard for correction, qualitative and quantitative is more accurate.
